Comfort Blanket Volunteer Event by Gift of Life

Comfort Blanket Volunteer Event by Gift of Life In-Person

Join Gift of Life Michigan will be hosting a volunteer activity to make comfort blankets for families who have lost a loved one. There will be a brief presentation about Gift of Life's work and informational materials available to learn more.

The fleece tie blankets are most appropriate for ages 14 and older without parent supervision and eight and above with parent supervision. We will also have scraps available to make dog and cat toys for shelter pets. This activity is available to ages 8 and above without parent supervision and all ages with parent supervision. If you have new or handmade blankets that you would like to donate, you can bring them to the event to donate as well.

Gift of Life Michigan is our state's organ and tissue donation program, facilitating organ and tissue donation by deceased donors. As part of that work, they provide supports to families of organ and tissue donors. This includes comfort blankets that are typically given to families at the time of losing their loved one. ks youThese blankets are often a great comfort to a grieving family and a reminder of the gift their loved one made through donation.
